Mama

I am thankful everyday for having a mother with good genes. Hahahaha. Seriously though, I wouldn’t be who I am today without Mama. Literally and figuratively. Nothing like a mother’s love. No words can really express how grateful I am for everything that you have ever done and everything that you are to me, and to the family. 23 years later, here we are. We’ve fought a lot of battles together, sometimes against each other, and I know you will always have my back.

You are such a fun Mama to have. A best friend, sister, chef, teacher, discipler, spiritual counselor, fangirl all in one. Thank you for forgiving me for all my sillyness and shortcomings. I will always strive to be the best daughter I can be for you and Papa.

By the way, I found a photo of you and Piolo Pascual. Haha! I love you, Mama :) you know that we always will.

And to all the mothers out there, you rock. I salute you. For all the life you’ve given into this world, for all the love and loss you’ve encountered and endured. Thank you. You are captivating and you are worth celebrating. You are a brave soldier and you take on the hardest, most fulfilling task in the world.

Mistress of Light Sensitive Celluloid

That’s what a good friend (Juric) called me.

Ironically, I am posting my 2009-2010 film shots on Facebook and it makes me miss shooting analogue so much.

In light of recent events, here are some favourites I’ve found and forgotten, along with current-love / Polaroid shots:

Lambton Quay, Wellington, overexposed.

Cosmic Corner, Wellington. Polaroid 600 + Impossible Film.

Wellington Fashion Week, Kelsey Genna. Runway.

Wellington Fashion Week, Bridal Couture.

LCA, Agfa CT Precisa, 2009.

LCA+, Fuji Negative Film, 2010.

Smiles

Today has been a very good day. Back to work, bikram yoga, cooking (more like, saute-ing mushroom and chopping carrots), exfoliating time + girl time with my flatmates/sisters in Christ.

Amidst everything that happens throughout the day, good or not-so-good, visiting this site always inspires me:

Always. Better go check it out and feed your soul with smiles.

Other things:

There’s truth and even more motivation in following amazing people on Twitter. She is one of them. A good friend, Sacha, and I were having coffee last Sunday and she kept mentioning Joyce Meyer. I have yet to read her books and listen to her speak, (hopefully in the Hillsong Conference this July) but her tweets are *amaze*. They speak life and I love them.

So, yes, I have been doing one thing at a time and enjoying it. Feels rejuvenating. There’s peace.

Lastly:

First feature / reblog from lomographicsociety.tumblr.com yay!

It’s a good day. Share that smile :)

Romantic, Not

So, this happened to me tonight:

Minus the food-dropping, tears, drama and heartbrokenness.

Just ran after a bus but it felt like I was in a movie calling out for someone to wait for me because… I had to go home.

Be wary of bus times, people! Arrive at your stop early, and maybe it is best to have something (like an apple) to throw at the window so they hear you. Hahaha. What a funny way to end the night.

P.S. I miss Meteor Garden. Yes. I said it.
